What proof of ownership can i use?
- Driving Licence: A valid driving licence is commonly used.
- Passport: A valid passport serves as proof of identity.
- Utility Bill or Bank Statement: A recent bill (utility, Council Tax, or rates) or a bank/building society statement from the last six months can be used.
- Vehicle Registration Certificate (V5C): Also known as the logbook, this document proves you are entitled to display the registration number.
- New Keeper Supplement (V5C/2): If you've just bought the car and don't have the full V5C yet, this new keeper's slip is acceptable.
- Certificate of Entitlement (V750 or V750NI): This is the document for a reserved number that hasn't been on a vehicle yet.
- Retention Document (V778 or V778NI): This document is needed if you have a number plate that you're keeping on a retention certificate.
- Number Plate Authorisation Certificate (V948): This is an older certificate issued by the DVLA that may be used in some cases.
